elSpanishLottery.com is free to use. To keep it that way, we earn money through affiliate links. This page explains what that means for you, and what it doesn’t mean.
What Is an Affiliate Link?
Some links on our site lead to online lottery services, such as lottery messenger services and lottery betting sites. If you click one of these links and then sign up or buy a ticket, the provider may pay us a commission. This can be a one-off fee or a share of the revenue the provider earns from your account.
What It Means for You
- You don’t pay more. The price of a ticket or bet is the same whether or not you use our link.
- Your prizes are not affected. Commissions never come out of your winnings.
- You’re free to choose. You can always go to a provider directly, or buy an official ticket in Spain yourself.
How We Mark Affiliate Links
Buttons and boxes that lead to a commercial partner are clearly shown as offers, with a note such as “Ad: we may earn a commission” close by. Technically, these links carry the rel="sponsored" attribute, as search engines require for paid links.
Links to official sources, such as SELAE, ONCE, the Spanish Tax Agency and responsible gambling organisations, are never affiliate links.
Our Editorial Independence
Commissions don’t decide what we write. Our guides to the rules, odds, prizes and tax of each lottery are based on official sources, and we point out downsides where they exist, such as poor odds, service fees or legal restrictions. A provider cannot pay to change our information, the odds we publish or our conclusions.
When we recommend or rank a service, we look at licensing and trustworthiness, which Spanish lotteries it offers, whether you get a real official ticket (messenger) or a bet (betting), price and fees, and how prizes are paid out. How we work is described on our about us page.
Check Before You Play
Online lottery services are not legal in every country. Before you sign up, check that online lottery play is allowed where you live, read the provider’s terms and conditions, and only play if you’re 18 or older. We explain the difference between the two types of service in our guide to playing online.
